- 2. POSITION: Keep an exit behind you, hold upright and stay about 2–3 metres away.
- 3. AIM & SPRAY: Point at the base of the flame, press firmly and sweep as directed.
- 4. LEAVE IF UNSAFE: Stop if flames grow, smoke thickens or your exit becomes uncertain
- For cooking-oil fires: never pour water on the flame or carry a burning pan. Turn off the heat only if it is safe, and follow the fire-class directions printed on your can.
